Born and raised in Springfield, Ellen is passionate about advocating for her community. As a first-time homeowner, she settled in Ward 5 and cares deeply about the concerns of all residents in the neighborhood. Her mother is a paraprofessional for Springfield Public Schools and her father is a small-business owner for more than 30 years here in the City of Springfield.

Ellen has spent her career fighting for the people. She earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, and an Honors International Relations Certificate from the Five Colleges. In 2020, she received her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration on executive leadership management from Our Lady of the Elms, and was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta honors society. In 2018, she was honored to be recognized as a 40 under 40 awardee from BusinessWest.

As a member of the Springfield Women’s Commission, Ellen works as a community liaison to share critical resources and information with women, children, and families across the city. As a former Senior Program Officer with the City of Springfield Department of Housing, Ellen understands the issues facing city residents and is well qualified to work collaboratively with residents and city officials to bring solutions.

Ellen has spent her career fighting for the people. She has the experienced, yet fresh, eyes needed on our council to work within a budget to ensure that we have safe streets, support our teachers and quality schools, dependable city services, an accountable city government and a thriving local economy that includes arts and culture. Achieving these goals will make Springfield a place where families, young and old, choose to live, work, play, and stay.

As your next Ward 5 City Councilor, Ellen is committed to building a strong community where everyone can thrive.
